Welcome to AYSO Region 6 San Pedro

Uniforms & Equipment

Uniforms
Player uniforms are provided by Region 6. The uniform includes Jersey or Dri-fit, shorts, and socks. Altering of the uniform in anyway is prohibited. Players names (first, last, or nicknames) are not allowed on the uniform. This is for the safety of your players. If a uniform is found to be altered, the parent is responsible for  purchasing a replacement uniform through the Region.

Shin Guards
Shin guards must be worn at all practices and games. If the player does not have shin guards, they will not be allowed to participate in the match or practice. There might be extra shin guards available at the Headquarters tent in the equipment bin. Please ask a Board Member or Headquarters volunteer for assistance.

Shin guards must be completely covered by the player's stockings. A player who puts the shin guards on over the stocking and then rolls the stocking down over the shin guard should be required to change. The shin guard must be worn completely under the stocking.

Soccer Cleats
Soccer cleats are required to play in pall practices and games. We do have an equipment exchange program. You might find a great pair of gently used cleats! This bin is always present at uniform pick up and on soccer Saturdays at the Headquarters tent.

Jewelry, Earring, and Studs
Jewelry, including earrings of any kind, whether or not worn in any body piercing (visible to the referee), must be removed before the player is to be allowed to participate in a match. The same is true of any stud which is used in a body piercing when the jewelry is not being worn. Placing tape over a piercing is not allowed/acceptable.

Medical Alert Jewelry
It is the AYSO NRP decision that children are to be allowed to participate in games or practices while wearing medical alert bracelets. The bracelet must be covered with a cloth wristband or something equivalent which does not involve taping the bracelet directly to the child's skin as this can be very painful to the child when it is removed.

Glasses/Eyewear
Players who require prescription glasses are to be allowed to wear them during a match. The AYSO NRP recommends, but does not require, that retaining straps be worn. Rubber bands may also be used for this purpose. Prescription goggles such as the type used by racquetball players are also permitted subject to the approval of the referee prior to the start of the match. Spectacle guards made of plastic or other hard material are not permitted.

Drop Off Policy

It is strongly recommended that a player’s parent or guardian be present during all AYSO games and practices. If that is not possible, parents or guardians are required to inform the coach beforehand, preferably by email.

They must inform the coach:
  • Who will be bringing their child.
  • Who will be picking up their child.
  • Who is responsible and should be contacted in case of injury or emergency during the game or practice.
  • Contact numbers for all responsible persons must be included.
When arriving at practices or games, parents must not drop off players at fields without contacting the coach. The person responsible for the player must walk them to the coach.

Casts and Splints

The AYSO National Rules and Regulations paragraph V.I.G, states: "Players shall not be allowed to practice or participate in any game with any type of cast or splint."
The AYSO NRP fully endorses this rule and further notes to referees that players must not be allowed to participate if they are observed to have removed a cast or splint.

No Pets Policy

We understand that your pet is another valued member of your family, but please keep your pet at home.

All AYSO Region 6 participants agree and understand that NO PET shall be permitted at any AYSO activity or event regardless of venue or location. This policy includes but is not limited to practices, games, picture day, tournaments, etc. This Policy is consistent with those of neighboring Regions and is in keeping with the AYSO Insurance Policy. Properly registered service animals are generally exempt from this policy.

You, as the primary player and account registrant, are also responsible for any friends or family members visiting the fields.

AYSO Region 6 holds the permits for the Field of Dreams soccer fields during our designated days and times. During the use of this permit, we do not allow pets on the fields.

It is our goal to make your soccer season as safe as possible for you, your family, and even your pets. Thank you for keeping your beloved family pet at home.

Disclaimer:
AYSO is obligated to observe and respect existing regulations and laws regarding the presence of service animals at our fields. Other animals, whether wild or domestic, do not qualify as service animals.

Emotional support animals do not qualify as service animals under the ADA, the California Unruh Civil Rights Act nor the Disabled Persons Act.
