Uniforms
Player uniforms are provided by Region 6. The uniform includes Jersey or Dri-fit, shorts, and socks. Altering of the uniform in anyway is prohibited. Players names (first, last, or nicknames) are not allowed on the uniform. This is for the safety of your players. If a uniform is found to be altered, the parent is responsible for purchasing a replacement uniform through the Region.
Shin Guards
Shin guards must be worn at all practices and games. If the player does not have shin guards, they will not be allowed to participate in the match or practice. There might be extra shin guards available at the Headquarters tent in the equipment bin. Please ask a Board Member or Headquarters volunteer for assistance.
Shin guards must be completely covered by the player's stockings. A player who puts the shin guards on over the stocking and then rolls the stocking down over the shin guard should be required to change. The shin guard must be worn completely under the stocking.
Soccer Cleats
Soccer cleats are required to play in pall practices and games. We do have an equipment exchange program. You might find a great pair of gently used cleats! This bin is always present at uniform pick up and on soccer Saturdays at the Headquarters tent.
Jewelry, Earring, and Studs
Jewelry, including earrings of any kind, whether or not worn in any body piercing (visible to the referee), must be removed before the player is to be allowed to participate in a match. The same is true of any stud which is used in a body piercing when the jewelry is not being worn. Placing tape over a piercing is not allowed/acceptable.
Medical Alert Jewelry
It is the AYSO NRP decision that children are to be allowed to participate in games or practices while wearing medical alert bracelets. The bracelet must be covered with a cloth wristband or something equivalent which does not involve taping the bracelet directly to the child's skin as this can be very painful to the child when it is removed.
Glasses/Eyewear
Players who require prescription glasses are to be allowed to wear them during a match. The AYSO NRP recommends, but does not require, that retaining straps be worn. Rubber bands may also be used for this purpose. Prescription goggles such as the type used by racquetball players are also permitted subject to the approval of the referee prior to the start of the match. Spectacle guards made of plastic or other hard material are not permitted.
